Guests:
Teri Zywicki, President and CEO of St. Aemilian
Ann Umhoefer, Chief Operating Officer of St. Aemilian
There are many groups and organizations doing wonderful things in our community of which we are often unaware. This week, Diane invites two very special guests to discuss the good works St. Aemilian-Lakeside has been doing throughout Milwaukee.
St. Aemilian-Lakeside provides innovative family-centered care and educational services that embrace diversity and empower children, families, and adults to improve the quality of their lives. It is no wonder why they were recently named the 2008 Alliance Agency of the Year.

Executive Director for the Wisconsin Counties Association
with special guest:
Dan Burkhalter, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC)
K-12 education is critically important. It shapes the lives of the 5 to 17 year olds who will someday be the wealth generators of the state of Wisconsin. This week, Mark O'Connell invites Executive Director of WEAC Dan Burkhalter to discuss how WEAC is helping to shape Wisconsin education.
As Burkhalter explains, WEAC is more than just a "teacher's union." Rather, its 98,000 members consists of teachers, early childhood educators, instructors/staff of technical colleges, teachers in the department of corrections, retired teachers, and student members who will soon become teachers. Together, they represent the best of those working in public education in Wisconsin.

People with Disabilities
Guest: Dinah Chaudoir-Federerbr, author of “Chasing Normal: A Guide for the Newly Disabled”
What would you do if you or a loved one woke up tomorrow with a disability? How would you cope if you couldn’t do what you loved best in your spare time? How would you know what to do if someone you loved needed your emotional support in coping with the on-set of a new disability? These questions are quite fear provoking and yet very real. Given that we have soldiers coming home daily with permanent disabilities, these questions are multiplying exponentially in our country.
Join Diane and our guest Dinah Federer, author of “Chasing Normal: A Guide for the Newly Disabled.” "Chasing Normal" is a compelling account of life with a disability from two remarkable perspectives and is a must-read for anyone who has or is connected to someone with a disability. You can also check out Dinah's website at http://www.chasing-normal.com to learn more.
